Waltchack Pumpkin Sale
Rushton and Derrick Waltchack’s daughter helps at her family’s pumpkin sale last year.
A pumpkin sale this weekend will benefit the two Edgewood families’ adoptions.
The event will be held Friday, Oct. 2 from 3-6 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 3 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the home of Rushton and Derrick Waltchack at 2445 Chestnut Road near Vestavia Country Club.
Around 3,000 pumpkins will be available for sale, and there will be a bouncy house and other kids’ activities as well.
The Waltchacks have a farm in Alpine, where they planted and harvested pumpkins for the sale last year to help support their adoption of a child from China.
This year the sale will support Brian and Shannon Jones’ adoption from India and Sara and Lindsey Boneys’ from China. Both families have children who attend Edgewood Elementary. The Boneys will be travelling to China in November to get their daughter.
