Alabama Power Company is scheduled to remove trees and vegetation around power lines in parts of Homewood through early 2014.
After several meetings with the Homewood City Council, Alabama Power implemented new methods of communicating with homeowners, including an ad in this month’s issue of The Homewood Star and leaving noticed with property owners.
An arborist will now be on-hand to determine best cutting practices, and a "lighter touch" will be taken in the more public areas.
“We are appreciative of the time and effort that APCO has put forth to ensure that this next round of vegetation management is more favorable in the city of Homewood,” said Ward 4 City Council Representative Heather Reid in an email.
