0313 Target Ribbon Cutting
Store Team Leader Erin Seago and Mayor Scott McBrayer cut the ribbon to officially open the new Target on Lakeshore Drive.
The Homewood High School band, cheerleaders, flag line and majorettes performed for customers waiting anxiously outside for the doors of Birmingham’s first PFresh Target on Lakeshore Drive to open on March 5.
“This process started two years ago,” said Mayor Scott McBrayer. “It’s hard to believe I’m standing here today and that dream is now a reality.”
McBrayer and Homewood Store Team Leader Erin Seago cut the ribbon together. During the opening ceremonies, Seago presented the Exceptional Foundation with $2,000. Seago and other Target teams from Birmingham also donated bottled water to the Foundation’s Chili Cook-off on March 2.
After the doors opened, Samford University's Jazz Band played in the downstairs entrance. There was a face painting artist, a balloon animal artist, a photo booth and various snacks throughout the store.
