1212 Homewood Middle Jazz Band Homewood Annual Meeting
The Homewood Middle School Jazz Band performs at the Homewood Chamber's Annual Meeting at The Club on Dec. 6.
The Homewood Chamber of Commerce welcomed Alabama Secretary of Commerce Greg Canfield as guest speaker to its Annual Meeting and Luncheon, held Dec. 6 at The Club. Canfield is currently the state’s leading economic developer and chairs Gov. Robert Bentley’s Alabama Economic Development Alliance.
Canfield, who was introduced by his friend, State Rep. Paul DeMarco, told Chamber members that Alabama has a good environment for attracting businesses and he anticipates its economy will continue to grow.
Also at the meeting, the Chamber honored several members with annual awards. Ambassador of the Year was given to Lana Koenning, premium services manager for the Birmingham Barons, and Julie Jordan, account executive with Birmingham’s CBS 42.
Chamber Member of the Year was awarded to Valerie Williams with Verizon Wireless, and Business of the Year went to Tidmore Flags.
Also at the annual meeting, the chamber thanked outgoing members of the Board of Directors for their service and welcomed new members to the Board. Outgoing members are Diana Litsey, John Christopher Batts, David Watts, Darlene Negrotto, Kerry Adkins, Laura Wilson and Josh Watkins.
