Sprout & Pour Juices
Sprout & Pour, a juicery scheduled to open in Edgewood, currently sells six juice varieties through farmers' markets and home delivery.
A new juicery is coming to Edgewood this summer.
Sprout & Pour will feature a juice bar and other related services from its new location at 927 Oxmoor Road across from Homewood Antiques and Marketplace. Owners said they plan to open the retail business in July or August.
“Our juices are comprised of local farm-picked fresh vegetables and fruits, so no preservatives, sugars or additives are added, making them extremely nutritious,” owner Amanda Blake Turner said.
Leading up to the opening date, Sprout & Pour juices are now available at the Homewood Farmer’s Market in SoHo and other markets around Birmingham. The business also offers a delivery service to Homewood; orders placed by Monday at 3:30 p.m. are delivered by Wednesday.
Turner, along with her husband, Andrew, and Andrew and Carey Baker, developed Sprout and Pour’s "farm to table" concept after she found juicing and nutrition the only remedy to heal her body after a month of sickness.
Their juices are extracted through a cold-pressed process that preserves natural fruit sugars, vitamins, trace minerals, enzymes and other vital elements.
Sprout & Pour currently offers six juice varieties, which will evolve as seasons change. They are:
- Lemon Zing (lemon, cayenne, honey)
- Spring (kale, cucumber, mint, apple, orange)
- Quench (romaine, mint, apples, celery, pineapple, parsley)
- Sunrise (apple, carrot, ginger, lemon)
- Beet-Nik (beet, carrot, celery, apple, spinach)
- Cashew Milk (raw cashews, distilled water, honey/or agave, cinnamon, vanilla)
Turner said because juices are low in caloric intake, they recommend them to supplement a diet.
“They are a great addition to your daily meals, as if taking a vitamin, but better because you're ingesting phytonutrients, enzymes and vitamins as you drink,” she said.
Turner also noted that she and her partners are looking forward to opening up shop in Edgewood.
“We are thankful and excited to be in the neighborhood,” Turner said. “Hopefully bringing fresh locally farmed produce via cold-pressed juice will encourage and motivate healthy eating and lifestyle.”
