Pittman in Olympic Trials

Homewood High School student Genny Pittman, 16, recently competed in the Olympic Swim Trials in Omaha. She competed alongside such swimmers as Michael Phelps, Natalie Coughlin and Missy Franklin.

Pittman has been swimming competitively since she was six. She has been training with the goal of competing in the Olympic Swim Trials for two years.

Although she did not advance to the Olympic team during these trials, the experience was an inspiring one.

“I’m focusing on the 2016 Olympics. Being there makes you want to swim and train. Hopefully, I’ll make the U.S.A swim team,” Pittman said.
