Patriots game vs. Pell City moved to Tuesday

Rain and poor field conditions have pushed the deciding game of the Homewood and Pell City baseball series to Tuesday at 5 p.m.

The game at Pell City was to be played Monday. The winner moves to the second round of the Class 6A state baseball playoffs.

Homewood and Pell City split a doubleheader on Saturday after rain postponed play Friday. The Patriots won the opener of the best-of-three series 3-0 and dropped the nightcap 4-3.

The winner will face Briarwood Christian. The Lions swept Chelsea 9-3, 7-3.
