Homewood improved to 2-0 in Class 6A, Area 9 play on Friday night, with a commanding 55-23 victory over Briarwood Christian.

Following a tight first quarter, the Patriots (18-3) took off and never looked back, winning the second period 21-7 and holding the Lions to just seven total points in the second half.

Luke Touiliatos led all scorers with 18 points, as he continues his solid season.

Trey Jemison and Briarwood's Thomas Collier faced off at the center position. Jemison scored seven and Collier had 11.

The Patriots play again Tuesday, as they host Pelham.
