Homewood rolls over John Carroll, 62 - 0

The Homewood Patriots jumped out to a 35 - 0 halftime lead and cruised to a 62 - 0 win over John Carroll High.

Star running back Walter Rutledge, who gained 133 yards and three touchdowns on just 12 carries, opened the scoring with a 25-yard romp and the Patriots never took their foot off of the accelerator.

Quarterback Carson Griffis went 7 for 11 passing for 182 yards, and added 72 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Devonte Wallace also starred, scoring on an 82-yard kickoff return and a 50-yard touchdown pass from Griffis.

The Patriots' defense was equally dominant, holding John Carroll to only seven first downs.

Next week, the Patriots (5-1, 4-0) travel to face Sylacauga High.
