Hewitt-Trussville's Chris Lewis hit a free throw with 2.8 seconds remaining to give his team the lead, as Homewood's nine-game winning streak came to an end in a 51-50 loss to the Huskies on Friday night.

Luke Touiliatos led the Patriots (11-2) with 18 points on the night, driving to the basket several times and draining a pair of three-point shots. His three-point attempt at the buzzer missed.

The game was tight the whole way, with the teams tied at 18 following one quarter, and at 32 at halftime. The third period consisted solely of two runs; a 9-0 Homewood run to begin the quarter and an immediate 8-0 run from Hewitt-Trussville to end it.

Damon Harper was electric behind the arc for the Huskies. His sixth three-point make of the evening came in the final minutes to tie the game at 50-50. Another one of those makes came at the buzzer to conclude the first half, as he banked one in to send the Huskies to the locker room with a tie score. He finished with a game-high 20 points.

There was a 20-minute delay in the middle of the fourth quarter due to technical issues involving the scoreboard.

Austin Patterson chipped in 12 points for the Patriots, while Trey Jemison produced six points in the first half.

Homewood is back in action over the weekend, as they will participate in the third annual Steel City Invitational, which takes place at Samford University. The Patriots play Jackson-Olin at noon on Saturday.
