Deja Hester-Taylor has committed to Maryville College in Tennessee. She received the Patriot Award, the highest award given to a volleyball player in the Homewood volleyball program. She participated in four years of volleyball at HHS and three years of track. She was a starter and played middle and outside for the Patriots her senior year. This season, Hester-Taylor helped her team win the regular season area title and advance to the Super Regionals in Huntsville for the second straight year. Hester-Taylor has also received a Homewood Rotary Scholarship.


Andy Smith & Hunter Poole

Smith and Poole will compete in both cross-country and track and field at the college level after extremely successful careers at Homewood. Smith signed with Auburn, while Poole will attend Samford. Both were a part of eight state championships at Homewood, and both have received All-State honors (Smith the last four years, Poole twice).

A pair of Homewood wide receivers signed walk-on agreements to play college football at local schools. 

Marsch signed with UAB, while Walker signed with Samford.


Kennedy Clark & Tobbie Taylor

Homewood High School seniors Tobbie Taylor and Kennedy Clark signed scholarships to attend and play football at Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, Missouri. By signing with MBU, Taylor and Clark will make history as members of the first football team in MBU history.

Ryan Hepp & Jackson Lynn

Both Homewood soccer players signed scholarships to play soccer at Birmingham-Southern College. Hepp was a four-year starter, while Lynn was a three-year starter for the Patriots. The pair helped lead the Patriots to the Class 5A state championship in 2014.


Virginia Estes

Virginia has signed to play volleyball at Goucher College. She played four years at Homewood High School and two years at Homewood Middle School. Estes played the Libero position for much of her high school career, and led the Patriots in digs her senior year, and was one of the team captains. Her community service resume is extensive, and concluded her high school career with a 4.0 GPA.


Wyatt Harrison

An Illinois native, Wyatt Harrison moved to Alabama prior to his junior year of high school. He previously swam at University High School in Normal, Ill. An Illinois All-State competitor as a sophomore, he won the Illinois 1,650 freestyle state title in 2014 and the Southeastern Championships 1,650 freestyle in 2015.

An AP Scholar with Distinction, a National Merit Semifinalist and a two-time U.S. Swimming Scholastic All-American, he is a senior at Homewood and is the son of Wade and Melinda Harrison.
