Shades Cahaba students visit state capital

To culminate their yearlong study of Alabama history, fourth-graders at Shades Cahaba visited Montgomery, the state’s capital. While in Montgomery, students learned more about the Civil Rights Movement and the Montgomery Bus Boycott at the Rosa Parks Museum. Students visited buildings where all three branches of government meet: the State House, the State Capitol and the Supreme Court of Alabama. 

The students also enjoyed a lovely riverboat cruise on the Harriott II.
