Shades Cahaba named national finalist for ASCD award

Shades Cahaba Elementary School has been named a national finalist for the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development’s (ASCD) national "Whole Child: Vision in Action" school award.   ASCD is a global community geared toward excellence in learning, teaching, and leading.

Candidates for this award include schools that work to create learners who are knowledgeable, emotionally and physically healthy, civically active, artistically engaged, prepared for economic self-sufficiency, and ready for the world beyond formal schooling.

The selection committee will choose one national award winner at the spring ASCD conference April 2-4 in Atlanta.
