Obstacle races raise school funds
Shades Cahaba Elementary School students enjoyed their first Owlmazing Race
on Feb. 15. Physical education teachers, along with PTO parents, planned a day of obstacle races that included not only physical exercises but also academic trivia during the students’ PE classes.
Each class chose a name and a “look,” such as a bandana, a special colored shirt or hat.
The school raised more than $22,000 through donations.
