Students present projects on historical figures

Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School students helped historical figures come to life through a recent project.

Through a book report project, students chose a historical figure to read and write about, and they presented an oral report about their chosen person while dressed in costume.

“The class project was designed to not only help develop the students’ writing skills, but their speech presentation abilities as well,” said third grade teacher Josie Davis. “The project also gave the class as a whole an opportunity to learn about a number of famous people in history, and to see what each person looked like.”

Children were graded based on their oral report, mentioning important facts on the person’s life, their accomplishments, what they admired and why they chose to report on that figure.
