Seed to Plate program offered for middle school students this summer

Homewood Middle School is offering a free summer enrichment program June 23-26 for upcoming sixth through eighth grade students.

Seed to Plate science and nutrition program is an extensive, inquiry-based training program. Through it, a group of 15 highly motivated student leaders will be thoroughly trained on where their food comes from and why what they eat matters. These students will learn the basics to gardening, including planting, maintaining and harvesting, as well as how to create healthy snacks and meals from the harvest.

Applications are at all three Homewood elementary schools, as well as the middle school and on the HMS homepage. The deadline to submit applications is May 9.
