An edible rock cycle at HMS

Every sixth-grade science student at Homewood Middle School participated in a demonstration of the rock cycle recently. They used various food items ranging from bread to ice cream to show how a rock goes through the stages of igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic. The project culminated in a “new” rock.
