Holocaust survivor visits HHS

Holocaust survivor and author Dr. Inge Auerbacher recently spoke to Homewood High School students during an assembly. 

Auerbacher, who was born in 1934, and her family were imprisoned in a Nazi concentration camp from 1942 to 1945. Her family was among the 1 percent wh survived the camps.

Auerbacher and her family later moved to New York City, where she spent 38 years as a chemist and received an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from Long Island University. She has also published four books.

HHS junior Steven Craig was deeply moved by Auerbacher’s visit. 

“She truly inspires me and shows us all that anything can be possible,” he said.
