Alabama Public Television Young Writers Awards

Edgewood Elementary School first-grader Emma Rodgers won first place in her division at the Alabama Public Television Young Writers Awards.

Emma’s book titled “Abbie and the Ungrowing Flower,” was chosen out of over 100 entries from across the state of Alabama.  As an APT Young Writers Contest winner, Emma received a trophy, Books-A-Million gift cards and other prizes during the Alabama Book Festival in Montgomery on April 23.  For winning first place, she also received Samsung Galaxy Tab A tablet computer.

Last year, as a kindergartner, Emma won third place for her book, “The Lonely Ladybug Family.”

Congratulations to Emma Rodgers on her wonderful accomplishment.
