Relay for Life returns April 24

Homewood’s annual Relay for Life fundraiser will be held on Friday, April 24 at Homewood Central Park from 4-11 p.m.

Participating teams of 10 to 25 people raise money for cancer research and support programs, and team members take turns running or walking laps during the relay. There will also be activities throughout the night to honor cancer survivors and caregivers and remember those who lost the fight. This includes a free dinner for survivors, the Survivors’ Lap and the Luminaria Ceremony, in which candles are lit in memory of past cancer patients and support for those who currently have cancer. There will also be family events for all ages, such as a wing eating contest and a cornhole tournament.

Participants who raise more than $100 will receive a Relay for Life T-shirt. Sign up at relayforlife.org/homewoodal to create or join a team, walk as an individual or participate in the Survivors’ Lap.
