As part of the Sisters in Crime board’s “We Love Bookstores” initiative, the group presented Little Professor Book Center in Homewood with a $250 check.

Sisters in Crime is a worldwide organization with around 3,200 members and 50 chapters. The group is dedicated to promoting women crime writers and encouraging their ongoing advancement and recognition.

The “We Love Bookstores” initiative includes a monthly drawing for the $250 award. All bookstores within the United States are eligible to enter. To enter the drawing, the bookstore should submit an entry form, available online, and a picture of one or more staff members holding up three books by authors who are Sisters in Crime members.

Sisters in Crime member and author of Should Have Played Poker Debra Goldstein presented the check to owner Paul Seitz and book buyer Sara Glassman on Tuesday, June 29.

Goldstein’s book recently launched at Little Professor, and she said she was delighted to have the chance to present the bookstore with a check.
