Hundreds of witches rode their brooms through the streets of Homewood on Oct. 30, brewing fun for children and support for the American Cancer Society.

The Witches Ride is an annual event for women of Homewood to dress up and bike a two-mile route through the city, tossing candy to costumed children at certain points along the way.

Proceeds from participation fees and a silent auction go specifically for research on lung cancer.
