The Homewood Library Foundation invited community members out for a block party on Saturday, Aug. 13. The block party took place in the Homewood Public Library parking lot.

This was the third year for the event, which also serves as a fundraiser for the foundation. Activities included face painting, a dunk tank, a climbing wall and bounce houses, and several local businesses signed up as sponsors.

Block party proceeds will go to the Homewood Library Foundation, which seeks to enhance the library’s status as a local cultural center by raising private money to supplement public funding for facilities, services, projects, collections and technology.
