Homewood Community Garden to recycle Christmas trees

Now that Christmas has ended, the Homewood City Schools community garden is helping residents recycle their Christmas trees.

Residents can bring their trees to the top of the garden — where Grace Street dead ends — and drop them off. Homewood streets and sanitation will also pick up trees left on the curb on Wednesday, Jan. 6 and Wednesday, Jan. 13. The trees picked up on those days will go to the garden.

Any lights or metal should be removed from the trees for them to be recycled.
