Woman robbed at Broadway home, suspect arrested

A woman was robbed at her Broadway Street home Wednesday morning, according to a Homewood Police Department report.

At approximately 9:10 a.m., the homeowner was entering the rear door of her residence when she noticed the door had been forced open. A Hispanic male came out of the house and demanded she give him her keys and purse. She did as he asked, and the man stole her vehicle.

After the homeowner called 911, Homewood patrol officers spotted the vehicle on Oxmoor Road near the Homewood Public Library. They stopped the vehicle, placed the man under arrest and recovered the victim’s property.

The man is in custody at the Homewood city jail. No injuries were reported.
