West Homewood Farmers Market sets schedule

The West Homewood Farmers Market will be held every Saturday in June and July from 8 a.m.-noon at 160 Oxmoor Road.

June 8

Event: "Feed the Beez" educational workshop on Alabama bee's and the value they bring to our community.

June 15

Event: "Alabama's Favorite Fruit" - Come enjoy a free tomato and mayonnaise sandwich and learn a little more about the great tomatoes of Alabama.

June 22

Event: "Going Green - Container Gardens" - Come learn from local nursery owner Pam Clark of the Homewood Garden Shop about container gardens.

Kids: "Veggie Races" - Come prepared to race your very own Veggie-Car!  Purchase a vegetable from one of farmers and we will have wheels, some decorations, and a race track ready to see who has the fastest vegetable car at the market!

Event: "Chill'n at the Market"- As we celebrate the week of July 4th, we will bring our country's independence by offering fresh slices of watermelon. We'll also have a good old fashioned seed-spitting contest. Be ready to bring your game!

Event: "Christmas in July" - Don't be surprised if you find Santa Clause paying a visit to the West Homewood Farmer's Market this festive day!  We'll have Christmas decorations, lights strung-up, snow-cones, and great times for all!
