Warrant signed in connection with America’s Best robbery

A warrant was signed for the arrest of Darrell Lamont Davis in connection with a May 27 robbery at the America’s Best Inn in Homewood.

The warrant is on the charge of robbery in the first degree. On May 27, a black woman entered the lobby of the America’s Best Inn on Summit Parkway and left in a small, dark-colored car. The same car returned a few minutes later and two black males entered the lobby. One man had a handgun and threatened the clerk, saying he wanted his wallet and money. The men then jumped the counter and took money from the cash drawer.

Davis is possibly staying in the Gate City area, according to Homewood police. Anyone with information about this crime can call Crime Stoppers at 254-7777 or the Homewood Police Department at 332-6240.
