Homewood police obtained warrants on two individuals in a recent carjacking.

One of the individuals, Harold Mason, was charged with receiving stolen property. He was booked at the Bessemer Jefferson County Jail on Oct. 27, and his bond was set at $7,500. He was also charged with four counts of first degree robbery and one count of first degree capital murder during robbery between Oct. 27 and Nov. 2, according to Jefferson County Sheriff’s online inmate search.

The other individual, teenager Anthony Murray, was charged as an adult. Murray was charged with robbery, and his bond was set at $50,000. A picture of Murray was not available as off press time.

The carjacking occurred on Sunday, Oct. 25. Police first received a call about the carjacking, which occurred at the Buckingham Apartments at Aspen Ridge, around 7:18 p.m. and located the stolen car hours later.

The victims of the carjacking arrived home Sunday night and were approached by two armed male suspects. The suspects demanded the victims’ wallets, cell phone and keys, which the victims gave to them.

The suspects also took their car, which had a three-week-old infant inside. After pleading with the suspects, one of the victims was allowed to get the infant out of the car. The victims and infant were not injured.

The Homewood, Birmingham and Bessemer police and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office have worked together on this case.
