The Patriot Park StreetFest is back, after a popular inaugural event in October.

The spring StreetFest will be May 21, 4-9 p.m., on Oak Grove Road. The street will be closed down before, during and after the event to make room for bands, food trucks, inflatables and all the set up and take down that goes along with them.

Organizer Justin Limbaugh said the first StreetFest was a celebration of the city's sidewalk and road improvement projects. While construction was still underway at the time, Oak Grove Road's project is now complete.

“[It's] The first year where it’s going to look as nice as it should,” Limbaugh said.

The event is free, and Limbaugh said the goal is to get Homewood neighbors outside and enjoying time together. He and organizer Erik Henninger have worked with area businesses, such as Oak & Raleigh and Studio, to coordinate the event.

Limbaugh said the first StreetFest got "pretty positive" reactions, estimating that about 450 people attended.
