Sign ordinance variances, Taco Mama liquor license on council agenda

Monday’s Homewood City Council meeting will include two public hearings for sign ordinance variances.

The first public hearing is continued from the Jan. 11 council meeting and will cover variances for businesses at 800, 804 and 808 Green Springs Highway — Mission Possible Bargain Center, Pep Boys Auto Service and Tire and Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, respectively.

The other public hearing is for a sign ordinance variance for Real & Rosemary, opening at 1922 29th Ave. S.

Public safety topics for the meeting include consideration of installing a street light at or near 209 Clermont Drive and consideration of a four-way stop at the intersection of 28th Ave. S., Montessori Way and Woodfern Court.

New business for the council meeting includes a request for consideration of a restaurant retail liquor application for Taco Mama in Edgewood and a request for consideration to accept a $34,220.89 grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.

The council meeting will start at 6 p.m. on the second floor of city hall. The full agenda can be found at homewoodal.net.
