Homewood officer involved in shooting

A Homewood police officer was involved in a shooting at 2249 Green Springs Hwy on Feb. 20.

The Homewood Police Department Tactical Team served a narcotics search warrant at the residence and was shot at upon entering. The officers then returned fire and shot an occupant. 

The occupant was treated by paramedics located at the scene and then taken to UAB hospital, where he was pronounced dead. 

One other person was arrested at the scene. The Alabama State Bureau of Investigation is conducting an investigation.
