Recycle your tree

Homewood residents can recycle their Christmas trees Dec. 26 through Jan. 10.

The Homewood High School Environmental Club, Community Garden and the city’s Environmental Commission are working with the city to coordinate the recycling program.

This year trees can be dropped off at 189 Citation Court off West Oxmoor Road. In the event that an individual cannot drop off a tree, the city’s Streets and Sanitation staff will offer curbside pickup. 

All collected trees will be run through a chipper, and the mulch they create will be used for landscaping around the city.
