Homewood police have located the vehicle that was taken during a carjacking on Sunday, Oct. 25.

Police first received a call about the carjacking, which occurred at the Buckingham Apartments at Aspen Ridge, around 7:18 p.m. and located the car hours later. A man is being questioned at Homewood Police Department.

The victims arrived home Sunday night and were approached by two armed, male suspects. The suspects demanded the victims’ wallets, cell phone and keys, which the victims gave to them.

The suspects also took their car, which had a 3-week infant inside. After pleading with the suspects, one of the victims was allowed to get the infant before the suspects fled in the car. The victims and infant were not injured.

Homewood police, along with help from Birmingham police and the victims’ statements, eventually located the stolen vehicle.

Both suspects were described as black males around 5-foot-8 and 200 pounds. One was wearing a red shirt and shorts and had a high top fade haircut. The other suspect was also wearing shorts.

Police report the investigation is still ongoing.
