New gallery opening at Joy Gallery

The Joy Gallery is hosting an opening reception for work by Gayle Thomas and Ricia Neaura.

The reception will be June 26 from 1-3 p.m. at the Joy Gallery at Homewood Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Thomas said her interest in arts and crafts came at an early age, and she is a self-taught mosaic artist. Her inspiration comes mainly from nature, architecture and other artists.

Neura is a locally-recognized painter and art teacher. She paints portraits and watercolors in her vibrant works. Her most recent works are inspired by her faith in God, and works in oils, acrylics and mixed media to translate that onto canvas.
