Following a warrant taken out on June 10, a Birmingham Police Department Task Force arrested Darrell Lamont Davis for the May 27 robbery of the America’s Best Inn in Homewood.

On May 27, a black female entered the lobby of the America’s Best Inn on Summit Parkway. She talked to the front desk worker and then left in a dark colored car. The same car returned a few minutes later, and two black males entered the lobby. One of the suspects threatened the clerk with a handgun and demanded his wallet and money. Both suspects then jumped the counter and took money from the cash drawer.

Davis was charged with first degree robbery and bond is $60,000. Davis is in custody at the Jefferson County Jail.
