Homewood PD seeking homicide suspect

A man was shot and killed in Homewood Saturday, and Homewood police are looking for the suspected shooter.

Around 9:45 p.m., Homewood officers responded to La Sabrosita at 191 West Valley Avenue following a report of shots fired. Witnesses reported two men were arguing in the restaurant and went outside after the argument became physical. One outside, the suspect shot the victim and fled the scene.

The victim, Arturo Delgado Medina, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police report the suspect has been identified as Francisco Javier Salguero, a Hispanic male who is 5-foot-8 and around 165 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. An arrest warrant for murder on Salguero was obtained on March 30. Bond was set at $60,000.

Salguero is still at large, and police have requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals to help located the suspect. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Homewood Police Department Criminal Investigation unit at 332-6234.
