Homewood family in running for Green Home Giveaway

A Homewood family is one of three finalists for My Green Birmingham’s Green Home Giveaway. Voting lasts only through Friday, Dec. 21.

The giveaway helps Green Birmingham area families make their homes more energy efficient and sustainable.

Finalists Marcy and Crawford Miller hope to upgrade their 1940 home to help conserve energy and properly use their resources. Their current furnace is more than 20 years old, and the windows in the family room have inadequate insulation.

“Our family lives by the ideas of reuse/recycle and sustainability,” the Millers wrote on MyGreenBirmingham.com. “We would love for our home to demonstrate our values.”
