Historical society to feature documentary on Miss Fancy

Homewood residents can learn more about Miss Fancy, the elephant who was the first occupant of the Avondale Zoo, which later became the Birmingham Zoo, at the Homewood Public Library this month.

One of Miss Fancy's fans, Dr. Bill Chitwood, will present his documentary on Miss Fancy and her handler, John Todd, at the Homewood Historical Society meeting Saturday, April 19 at 10 a.m. Refreshments will be served, and the public is invited to attend.
