The first annual Homewood Health and Safety Day, hosted by Homewood Parks and Recreation, was held Saturday, June 11.

Booths about emergency preparedness, skin health and venomous snakes were set up around Homewood Central Park, along with a few bounce houses for kids to enjoy. Despite the summer heat, a crowd came through the day, which was aimed at promoted community health.

Attendees were able to learn about health and safety from the informational tables around the park as well as tour some of the emergency vehicles from Homewood's police and fire departments.
