Gas pipeline employee rescues injured hawk

During work on gas pipelines this morning on Valley Avenue, one worker spotted and rescued an injured hawk.

According to Homewood Police Detective Gabe Ferguson, Miller Pipeline Corporation employee Corby Robbins caught the wounded hawk the morning of Oct. 4. Police transported the hawk to Vulcan Park Animal Care, and Ferguson said they have contacted the Alabama Wildlife Center to rehabilitate the bird.
