A dining theater is no longer part of renovation plans for Brookwood Village.

Developers had presented a plan for a 40,000-square-foot, five-screen theater in the mall’s center to the city in February, but it was not mentioned in the renovation plans for the mall owner Cypress Equities released last week.

Glenn Miller, portfolio marketing director for Cypress Equities, clarified that the theater is no longer part of the plan in an email to The Homewood Star.

“That concept was never announced by Cypress and is not part of our current renovation program at Brookwood Village,” Miller said.

Miller also noted that new tenants to the mall will include Grille 29 in the former McCormick & Schmick’s building and Verizon Wireless in the former Applebee’s building. Both business spaces are currently under construction, and Hickory Tavern also recently opened across from Brio.

“Throughout the planned renovation process, our team will continue to seek out retailers and restaurants that will enhance the shopping and dining experience at Brookwood Village, but a dining theater is not currently part of that program,” Miller said.
