At its Jan. 11 meeting, the city council will consider a request to increase its offer price for the Fox property, which it intends to purchase as part of the Greenway's construction.

The city had originally offered $240,000, but an appraisal showed the property to be valued at $280,000. Homewood must offer this appraised value to acquire the property as trail right-of-way, since the Greenway project includes federal aid.

The council will also consider funding the next portion of the West Homewood Project's first phase. This funding will go toward fencing and seating on newly built sidewalks lining the Oak Grove Road and Raleigh Avenue intersection.

City council meetings begin at 6 p.m. in the council chambers, on the second floor of Rosewood Hall.
