Birthday Bash honoring Vulcan’s 109th birthday

On Sunday, June 2, head to the Vulcan Park and Museum to celebrate the biggest birthday bash in Birmingham. The Vulcan is the world’s largest cast iron statue, and Vulcan Park and Museum will host a celebration for his birthday outdoors. The whole community can come celebrate and enjoy a fun afternoon of family friendly festivities from noon to 4 p.m. Admission is $5 for ages 5 and up and free for children ages 4 and under.

Admission includes entrance to Vulcan Center Museum, Observation Balcony. Kids can have their faces painted by the Magic Town Clowns, create art masterpieces and crafts, join a drum circle get a picture made with “V,” see Alabama animals from the Birmingham Zoo, enjoy hands-on activities and more.

At 2 p.m., attendees will honor Birmingham's Honorable William Bell and sing "Happy Birthday" to Vulcan. Free Blue Bell Ice Cream will be served while supplies last, and additional food and refreshments from Tropical Adventure Shaved Ice and Coca-Cola will be available for purchase. Parking is limited, but a free shuttle will be provided.
