Arts council holding logo contest, seeking new members

Contributed

The Homewood Arts Council is currently looking for new members and holding a logo design contest.

The mission of the council is to support and encourage community art experiences for a creative, diverse and vibrant Homewood. Members of the Homewood Arts Council believe art is important to the life of a community. The council plans to highlight and celebrate the creative spirit of Homewood.

The council is looking for a unique design that reflects the city with a touch of artistic flair. Once all entries are received, a public vote will take place on the Homewood Arts Council Facebook page. Once a winner is determined, the winning logo design will become the identity of the Homewood Arts Council. The deadline for submissions is June 15.

The council is also looking to fill three ward vacancies and requests any interested applicants to apply by June 15. If you live in Ward 1, Ward 2, or Ward 5 and would like to apply, please send a cover letter and resume to city clerk Linda Cook at Linda.cook@homewoodal.org.
