2-year-old Homewood boy dies after apparent drowning at apartment pool

A toddler has died after an apparent drowning at the pool in a Homewood apartment complex.

Jefferson County Coroner Bill Yates identified the boy as Caden Jemison, 2. He was reportedly found unresponsive in the pool at Chastain Park Apartment Tuesday at 8:08 p.m. Homewood fire and police departments arrived, and medics administered medical aid to Jemison.  He was transported to Children’s Alabama, where hewas pronounced dead at 8:52 p.m.

An autopsy was performed on Wednesday, Yates said. The incident is under investigation by Homewood PD.
