Tricia's Treasures

Tricia Thomas is following in the path of her parents, who were in the antique business for many years. In 1981, Tricia was ready to do something different and her parents were ready to scale down their business. After spending 15 years as a sandwich shop owner, she opened her first antique store in south East Lake where she grew up. In 1990, she moved her business to Vestavia Hills and then moved to her present location in Homewood 14 years ago when she found the perfect location and space.

“Tricia’s Treasures is an antiques and accessories shop,” Thomas said. “A shop for everyone — we often hear that. We have unique and unusual items, as well as traditional antiques, and we have new merchandise daily, weekly and monthly.”

Thomas’ store appeals to the masses, with everything from high-end specialty antiques and furnishings to the less expensive items. Thomas says her favorite part of her job is finding and buying treasures for her shop.

“This is very obvious, because I have 20,000 square feet of merchandise in a 12,000-square-foot store,” she said. “It really is a true treasure hunt to browse and shop the store.”

Thomas and her staff aim to please and spoil their customers as best they can. Over the years she has made many, many lasting friendships.

“Our goal is to help every customer find and meet their needs, and to make them want to hurry back soon.”
