Urban Air Trampoline Park, based in Texas, announced via its Facebook page that it will open a new location at 800 Green Springs Highway.

Urban Air is an indoor trampoline facility offering jumping for children and adults. There will be morning and evening adult fitness classes, dodgeball tournaments, open jump times, morning toddler jump times, a parents' lounge and Friday and Saturday night teen events with music, pizza, dancing and competitions. Founder and CEO Michael Browning said the building will include wall-to-wall trampolines, dodgeball courts, foam pits, a jousting pit, a trampoline runway and children’s area. There will also be two new Urban Air features: the Urban Warrior Course and Warrior Battle Beam.

“It provides the customer with a lot of different options for the time that they’re there,” Browning said.

Urban Air is partnering with a local group, Browning said, to open locations across Alabama. This will include more locations in the Birmingham metro area. Urban Air chose the Green Springs location in part because of the area's number of children and families, and also because the building met their square footage and ceiling height requirements.

“We really take the building and make it feel like you’re walking into an amusement park,” Browning said. “We hope moms and dads will be excited when their kids ask ‘Can we go to Urban Air?’”

Tickets are sold by the hour. The first hour is $8 for children five and under and $12 for ages six to adult, and after that it is $8 per hour for everyone.

Browning said Urban Air will model its hours on local schools. During school days, the trampoline park will open in mid-afternoon as kids are leaving school. On weekends and holidays, from summer break down to single holidays like President's Day, Browning said Urban Air will open at 10 a.m.

“We wanted to provide a facility that gives families the ability to have fun, create memories in a safe, fun, affordable environment,” Browning said.

Browning said Urban Air is targeting an opening in mid to late March and intends to hire around 50 people for the new location. Learn more at urbanairtrampolinepark.com.
