Taco Mama to open in Edgewood

The former Hart & Soul location in Edgewood has a new tenant — Taco Mama. The Crestline eatery plans to open the new location in January.

The fast casual Mexican restaurant offers a selection of tacos, burrito baskets, nachos and quesadillas that can be customized with fresh fillings such as chorizo, flounder, grilled shrimp, cilantro-lime rice, roasted poblano tartar and red-chile butter sauce. The menu also features kids items, sides such as ancho chile slaw and Mexican mac & cheese, and a selection of margaritas.

Owner Will Haver opened the original Crestline location in December 2011 and has since opened a Tuscaloosa location. He said he is excited about being in the Edgewood neighborhood.

The new location will be at 1014 Oxmoor Road. Hart & Soul owner Teresa Hartley announced that she was closing the coffee shop in July.
