Musicians start new music school

Allen Barlow and Rob Gannon, professional musicians and music instructors, recently started the Homewood School of Music.

The school offers lessons in acoustic and electric guitar, bass, piano, voice, drums, strings, brass and woodwinds. It prides itself on having Birmingham’s best and most experienced musical instructors.

Barlow received his bachelors of music in guitar performance from the University of Montevallo in 1996. In addition to private lessons, he began his teaching career at Fretted Instruments of Birmingham. He has given private lessons since 1992 and played at countless events and with numerous bands and organizations, including The Birmingham String Jazz Quartet and the Birmingham Art Music Alliance.

Gannon graduated from the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles in 1988. He began his teaching career in Birmingham at Bandstand Music and Fretted Instruments of Birmingham. Barlow is one of Gannon’s many successful students.
