Hop N’ Shop set for this weekend

Merchants and the Homewood Chamber of Commerce are teaming up for Hop N’ Shop this weekend.

Hop N’ Shop will take place in downtown Homewood, and merchants will hide items such as coupons, gift cards, candy and other prizes around their stores. The event will be Saturday, March 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The sidewalk Easter parade will also take place Saturday, and it is scheduled for noon.

Steve Thomas, owner of SoHo Retro, has headed-up the Hop N’ Shop event in the past. Although he is not running the event this year, he said there will be plastic eggs with discounts hidden throughout SoHo Retro. Shoppers can also expect to encounter “Retro rabbit,” who will be passing out candy throughout the day.
